This policy explains how Breathe for Five. (the iPhone app and breatheforfive.com) handles information. The app is operated by Timothy Hess ("we").
Summary
Sessions, saved patterns and practice history are planned to be stored on your iPhone and work without a connection.
Information we collect
- If you choose to create the optional account: your email address and the data you choose to back up
- If you purchase the optional supporter subscription: purchase and subscription status
- Crash and error diagnostics limited to technical details, with no session content or health information
Information we do not collect
- Breathing or heart-rate measurements (the app does not measure them)
- Your session history or saved patterns, unless you choose an optional backup
- Location, contacts or advertising identifiers
Health information
Breathe for Five. is a general breathing-practice timer, not a medical device or treatment. It does not measure your breathing and makes no claim about stress, sleep, HRV or any health outcome. Breathe at a pace that feels comfortable, and talk to a qualified health professional if you have health concerns.
Optional account
An account is optional and never needed for sessions. If you choose one for backup, we will say exactly what it saves and when it last saved successfully. We will update this policy before launch to match the released app.
iOS permissions
- — For gentle reminders you choose. Declining notifications never blocks a session.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers only to run the app. They may not use your information for their own purposes.
- RevenueCat — Processing the optional supporter subscription and restoring purchases. It does not receive your app content.
- Sentry — Crash and error diagnostics that exclude your personal content. We will confirm the exact fields in this policy before launch.
Advertising
Any ads in the free version promote other apps by the same developer. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-app advertising, and do not use Apple's advertising identifier to track you.
Purchases
Optional supporter subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive purchase status (for example, whether a subscription is active) but never your payment card details.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can use the app without an account, turn off notifications and permissions in iPhone Settings, and delete local data by deleting the app. To access or delete information connected to you, email privacy@breatheforfive.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and protect it with reasonable safeguards. Crash reports are kept for a limited period.
